AFAIK, you are then limited to defining the number of columns in the grid and putting code in all the header click methods. I would put only one line of code in the Header click methods that passes THIS.Parent [column object] to a procedure or method where all your sorting code can be consolidated.

VFP8 is the first version where you could define your own header class for a grid column and have the grid use this by default.
