Like I mentioned before, there are no guarantees. Windows and Dot Matrix printers do not like each other. The only patterns I could recognize were to keep fonts to a minumum (preferably only 1 font). Set up the various band heights on the reports to be as equal as possible. If that doesn't work, you are going to have to resort to the old fashion ??? and ESC sequences to print the report.
