Tracy,

I am slightly ahead of you...
We have a couple of thousand installations still running under FPW26 and the VFP port will roll out in september. Some of the clients' machines are still PII and K6-II. Performance of the ported version is quite good if the system has or can free enough memory. the HW you are describing (older PI) has often problems adressing more than 64MB - and owner's of these machines will probably NOT be happy.
If your customer's buy their own HW (and are VERY stingy), get them up to a level which is nowadays also obsolete and can be bought very cheaply: something in the area of at least an old celeron(900Mhz), PIII(800Mhz), Duron(800Mhz) or Athlon(750Mhz) but with nowaday's cheap memory and hide, until all these systems are up and running <g>.
If you can get them to buy a specified piece, evaluate carefully: if you plan to use VFP for much more than the port and start rewriting the app into multiple layers, VFP will need stronger HW. There I'ld still shoot for less than top of the line, but do not go for the bottom of the current list.
