There are several approaches. If you want RichText in terms of formatting, the RichText Control from Microsoft works well.

If you want HTML-Text and want to use an HTML-Editor, I have found KkHtmlEdit to be a real interesting and simple-to-drop in editor for about 120 dollars. This is made by a German software company that is quite supportive and open for improvements. (http://www.kk-software.de/?seite=SoftwareHTML)

A more expensive and more complicated option to use is TxTextEdit (to be found under www.textcontrol.com).

Keep in mind that you probably want an OCX control and keep in mind that you have to be able do deal with your memo fields in reports, too. That means that either your edit control has to be able to provide print output and need to work in reports or that you have to have other means of printing rich text or HTML output.

Also you might have to think about a plain-asci version of your text (in an additional memo field) for searching etc., which - if you need it is nice to have provided by your edit control.

Of course you can use Word as the editor (if your users generally or always have word) and store documents in your tables...
