>A guy was on the news last night and made an interesting statement. He said that welfare for the needy cost $50 billion a year. Another form of welfare is for corporations and costs $170 billion a year. The former is not acceptable to the majority of people while the majority do not know or care about corporate welfare from the federal government.

Are you talking about unemployed administrators/bureaucrats? If so, I have no problem with that. There should be no corporate welfare, and no subsidizing of anyone's profession whether it be farm subsidies or whatever. Return all that money to the taxpayers and let them spend it. I think we have successfully demonstrated that, over the long term, we tend to spend at a higher rate than save. Besides, I loathe those who think they know me better than myself and think they can spend my $$$ on better choices. Ross Perot was partially right, however, the sucking sounds you hear originate from DC, State Capitols, and County/Parrish Seats. The sounds are so blended and ubiquitous that they have turned into black[hole] noise and everyone has become deaf to it.
