Tracy;
“Are you Being Served?” has been one of my favorite television programs since the early 1970’s. We have the entire series on videotape and much of it on DVD. What I truly enjoy about the series are the relationships between each of the members. The hierarchy is very interesting, with union, salaried, management, owner and board of directors, along with those insignificant things called “customers”. Even a few robbers get into the picture.
There is a great deal of truth to the relationships portrayed in the series. We spend more time at work with fellow workers in a state of consciousness then we do at home.
Union workers get overtime pay.
The company cafeteria is no place fit to eat.
Salaried workers have his/her own hierarchy to help compensate for a low paying position.
Management is inept.
Owners have no clue of reality.
Gee - that sounds like every place I have worked at! :)
A very talented group of actors! I do believe the business model of Grace Brothers is very accurate. After watching and understanding these relationships how could any country not want to enjoy capitalism and the world economy? :)
