calculating the number of lines on a page would be hit and miss to be honest, but once that is know the rest would be easy. you could also figure out the number of lines on a landscape print as well and have a button/link that reformats the page for the landscape format. a user could click on the link and the new page would be set out for landscape. this could work but would leave you with quite a rigid structure where the user would have to always print on a particular paper size and have to select the correct view as well before printing.

Yes, that's a problem. How we would know the exact number of lines per page? I guess, it depends on the printer. Also what if the client would print landscape? Would be nice to have some generic method... I think, David has to run a research on this problem, also probably post in tek-tips. I would be interested in results...

Thanks.

>if you are only printing to A4 for example then you could hard code it in with a bit of testing. the page length vs the table length could be programmed into the table so that it appears like the header is that the top of the page, ie if 40 records fill an A4 page then have a loop that every 40 records it shows the header again and the continues with the rest of the table
