I just remembered one of our favourite US shows is Malcolm in the Middle. Its hard to find because it keeps getting bumped around the schedules.

I've never seen waiting for God (I had to look it up )

>I used to watch Fawlty Towers all the time and loved it! I also enjoyed Vicar of P... (Can't remember the name of the village except that it started with a "P" or a "D" I think and it had a female vicar who always told a joke at the end of the show). I enjoy Waiting for God too (that's on every Saturday night here now, but I am sure they are OLD shows...)

>>Yes are you being served was very popular and ran for a long time. I used to watch it when I was little. It doesn't get many re runs now. I guess its not regarded as being aged well.

>>A few other great shows where Dads Army,Fawlty Towers and Father Ted. Thats three I can think of.

>>From the USA we used to like Cheers and Friends (sometimes).

>>>No I have not but I will look for it. About “Are You Being Served?”, I have often wondered if it enjoys the same popularity in England as it does here? The BBC creates many great productions that are well done.

>>>For many years (as I grew up) I heard that British humor was not funny to people in the United States. It was too “dry”. That is something that is not always true! I must say though that the least interesting movie I have ever seen was titled, “One of Our Aircraft is Missing”, about WWII and of course a missing airplane. Perhaps the sense of humor of the British and Americans during the last 40 years is something we can understand and share compared to older offerings?

>>>>>“Are you Being Served?” has been one of my favorite television programs since the early 1970’s. We have the entire series on videotape and much of it on DVD. What I truly enjoy about the series are the relationships between each of the members. The hierarchy is very interesting, with union, salaried, management, owner and board of directors, along with those insignificant things called “customers”. Even a few robbers get into the picture.
