Wow! I forgot I ever asked this question... and didn't get an answer which at UT pretty much means it can't be done.

I retired the browse module in that application several years ago so I don't have a TABLE menu item any more with confusing options on it.

Instead, now I use class libraries that programmically build grid controls. I have much more control over the grids now, so the application has more functionality then it ever did with the modules that just used BROWSE.
