Christof Lange wrote an article "Send Messages on the Network" published in Nov. 2001 FoxPro Advisor explaining how to use maislots to send messages over a network.
\\[destination]\mailslot\\messngr is an undocumented mailslot name, where
[destination] is a computer name -- the message recipient. Also the wildcard character * can be used as a destination. In this case the message is broadcasted to all network computers.
The
NET SEND command uses exactly the same mailslot name. The search
"net send" + messngr in Google helps with more information.
