Well, it seems there are about as many theories as there are institutions and individuals that are interviewed. Anyway, it was first blamed on a fire. Later, somebody found signs of a gunshot in some critical place (cable?), which might have been deliberate, or caused by a hunter or something. We are still awaiting the official investigation.
The interesting part, though, is that apparently, the entire system (for a large part of the country) is interconnected in such a way, that a problem at a single point can cause a blackout for the greater part of the country.
