I'm sorry, got it working. Forgot to set the BoundTo property to true. However, your tip (set initial value to 0 in property box) was what I needed in the first place, so thanks.

I am so glad that you got it sorted out. Forgetting to set BoundTo = .T. is such an easy thing to do. That is why I set it to True in my base class combo box so I can forget all about it. It doesn't do any harm even when the combo's value is character.
