Bingo...this was in the event log...

"Detection of product '{89C83182-6537-4177-8A34-91598524EFD3}', feature 'VFP7_Professional', component '{1A1BB697-8711-11D3-A522-00A0C9231BA1}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ole db\vfpoledb.dll' does not exist. "

Copied vfpoledb.dll off one of my other machines and now all seems to be working properly again.
