Here is the simple explanation.

If you have say a version 1.0.4 and on the machine is 1.0.2, your version should be compatible with both your application and old applications. So you can safely overwrite.
If your version is 1.0.2 and they have 1.0.4, then you don't want to overwrite.

As long as you don't overwrite older versions with newer versions all should be well.


I don't happen to know what fox reg is so I am unable to help you with that, sorry.
