www.websters.com is not Webster's dictionary. Try
www.merriam-webster.com. (And yeah, I know there are two different Webster's dictionaries.)

Good morning Tamar;
One of the arguments I have experienced from within the academic world is “what dictionary of the English language is valid”? Should we use the unabridged Oxford or Cambridge versions? Indisputably you would not use any American version of a dictionary as what do the Americans know about the English language? :)
The popularity or validity of a dictionary seems dependant upon the audience. If one dictionary or reference book contains a definition of a word does that make it valid or invalid? Imagine a dictionary of Rap. On second thought forget that thought! :)
