Thanks for the link - it may very well be an issue related to that link - I ran it - and it did not dither.
The project I referenced had 4 containers on a form. The background of checks box and label controls is transparent. I noticed that if I "checked" a checkbox (the caption "highlighted"), and set focus to another control in the container, the checkbox unhighlighted. If, however, I selected a control in another container, the highlight would remain.
Initially, I did not use the check box caption, I used a label control. In the case of the label control, the undesired dither remained. In fact, other labels, not related to check boxes, dithered.
Each container has a list view (with checks). I am not designating an autoyield (yet) - and I have suspicions that not addressing Autoyield when the list views are being "written" to may have something to do with it.
Again, thanks for sharing that link - it was very helpful.

156101 If not, please provide more info on the properties of the checkbox.

>>Maybe it's my system - but in a VFP 7 project, on form surfaces that have check boxes, the label caption fonts start doing a Peter Max fade to bold. I have just noticed it while running FXPs and forms (not an EXE)inside VFP 7.
