There is even a white paper and work around for it!

I should have used "dithering", not many people can still recall Peter Max. He was a "pop" graphics artist in the 70s that did seamless transitions (dithers?) from ultra-lite colors to ultra dark ones! Like the sky at sunset: red to blue.
