It seems to me that the DBC doesn't include the complete information.
Look at the DBC file:
use MyDatabase.dbc
browse
After the table name follows the name of the individual fields. The field names are there, but some vital information, like the field type and size, simply seems to be missing.
It therefor seems to me that if you lose a table, you must recover from a backup. Or did you have another intended purpose?
