Anything that's not valid in the RowSource for the current RowSourceType of a combo or list will cause this error. As David pointed out, one possibility is if you have a RowSourceType of "Fields", and you've specified the alias in front of more than the first field, or not in front of the first field.

Any other typo in the RowSource will cause this error too, or if the RowSource isn't appropriate for the RowSourceType. For example if you specify any array for the RowSource, but you have the RowSourceType set to "SQL Statement".
