Do you have an example of the sort of formulae you are applying to the data?

I have seen figures in the past where people have had problems with comparing the performance of VFP and SQL Server, however a different approach is usually needed with SQL because it is set-based.

Would it be more sensible to do all of the processing in VFP then, and post the final result set to SQL in a batch at the end?

What are your drivers for using SQL Server in the first place?
