Yes, I have specifically done the following:

1) Tried renaming the file in same directory
2) Moved the file into other directories
3) Renamed the moved file
4) Edited and created the file with Notepad

It seems unlikely that this could actually be a VFP 8 problem. Nevertheless, the file edits fine under VFP 7 (SP1) but not under VFP 8. Seriously, does anyone have an idea of what could be going on here. Strange as it is it seems it is occuring before my very eyes!
