I'm not sure I understand the <*wince*> in your reply. I really don't mean to cause you pain :-) But do you know if there is any workaround other than just making sure that the DSN is not set to fetch data in background? Can I programatically set Fetch data in background OFF before executing SPT queries in case the DSN is not properly set up? While it hasn't caused much of a problem for me, as I rarely select * from a large table, I can't help but wonder if it occurs in other instances that I haven't noticed. I probably wouldn't have run into it at all had I not been trying to copy data by by appending records queried from one table into another empty table that had the same primary key index.
