Hey,
I need a second opinion on this. I have to make a virtual store for a company that uses a 3rd party accounting manager. I've spent almost a week to see hot the software stores it's orders. Now, i'm making the virtual store in ASP but i don't know. Should i make the ASP store it's orders directly to the dbf's or make a second table (Access) that stores the drafts and a small syncronyzer in vfp to take care of the orders in access and copy them in the accounting manager? the first option wouldn't be that secure and could mess up things like order ID's or lock records(if the ASP code gets stuck or high latencys)? The second option is harder to make and would need some timer, i guess 5 minutes to syncronize the orders from the webpage to the accounting ones. Users will use both the accounting and the webpage.
By the way? any ASP tips for securing and ID managing if I take the first option?
Thanks a lot,
ionut
