I can only speak for VMP since that is the framework that I am most familiar with. If the app is pretty much a standard desk top type FoxPro app (ex, accounting, contact management, list maintenance) and I had to rewrite it but keep the present stuff alive, I would choose to use VMP. I would create the base project using VMP and copy in all forms, programs, reports, menus, etc. into the project. At this point, I had everything I had before and more (the use of VMP's great security capabilities to name a big one). To make it run, I might have to tweak the main.prg a little bit. Now I can modify my forms and stuff on a case by case basis.
