Alan,
i have done this in VFP7 and it required me to set printer off, then send down the chars then set printer on
Cheers

I have a receipt printer with a cash drawer hooked up to it. By sending a Ctrl-G to the printer, a signal is sent to the cash drawer and the drawer opens.
In VFP8, how do I send a Ctrl-G to the printer. I tried ??? CHR(7) and I can see my printer icon light up in the windows tray, but the cash drawer doesn't open...I tried following up the CHR(7) with CHR(10) but nothing....after trying several CHR(10), CHR(13) and EJECT commands (changing the _PADVANCE variable to both "FORMFEED" AND "LINEFEEDS") the drawer finally opens. But, I haven't been able to nail down the exact sequence - in fact, it seems pretty random.
There's got to be a better way. Can I embed a Ctrl-G in a report somehow? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan
