An interesting thought at that!

I think the concept of selling SQL Server 2000 for $49 will get many developers involved to use the product and recommend it to clients. This is a great opportunity for developers who have not used the product or want to have a copy for home. The potential for increased sales for fully licensed copies to Microsoft is certainly there.

Getting certified in SQL Server is not a bad idea. The more skills you have the more marketable you are.

By the way I think I need a U-No's Pizza and a pint of Guinness! :)

There is a difference between want and need! Mine is a requirement!
