"really? Calling the support line hasn't given you the help you need? If so, management at PSS needs to be aware of this. They want happy customers, not VENGEFUL CUSTOMERS!!!!! (Oops, sorry, Simpsons attack there)"

I need to expand on this comment. First of all, I have not said anything "vengeful". If I mistyped something, show me!

I have been in this business since 1981, and have successfully partnered and worked with many, many companies. However, I will say that calling Microsoft is not going to solve this problem. What will happen is I will get a rookie, and I do not mean to offend anyone, but the fact is, he will ask me basic information and at the end of a long, long, and $250 incident call, I will be no further than I am now. The call might get escalated if I am lucky enough to get a support rep that really, REALLY cares AND has the authority and pull, but the fact is, in the years I have been in this business, most calls to support are fruitless. They deal with people who are just getting started, and it gets old. When they get an experienced developer on the phone, they treat them the way they treated the last 100 callers. I cannot say I would be any different if my last 100 calls were because some idiot didn't read the damn readme.txt file. Actually they are not idiots, they are just getting started, and we both were that one day. I am not here to offend anyone...just trying to solve a problem.

Whatever I said that leads you to make your comment about the simpsons she-it, don't go there. I am a consummate professional and do not feel I have said anything that would warrant those comments. I spent all day trying to prove to YOU that this was a real problem because you made it sound like you had sonme pull. I didn't need to do that...I am trying to contribute and save others heartache. I am a religious VFP devotee like most others here, but I am not going to buy calling technical support on this one.

If you are just kidding, no problemo! If you have ever called tech support for anything and resolved the issue, good for you. I haven't, so I don't bother! That time has served me well!

Cheers,
Bob
