Thanks for your reply. I have thought about Ghl6.vcx as i have had downloaded that class before. But i have not used it yet.

well, i changed my grid class to use the highlighter and it still did not fix my problem. however since i do a ThisForm.Refresh() every time i move the parent record pointer, i added to the grid.Refresh() the call to the highlighter class to highlight the row.

now it works.
