In MHO,Save yourself many many printer headaches by using Crystal Reports RDC for all outputing reports to printers, email, file formats, etc. etc. With the new SQL Command functionality you can build complex cursors and run them against any backend. (The basic runtime is free and distributable)

Crystal does a good job of documentation, support is good and they are trying to IPO so I imagine they will be around for awhile.
