The recall system in CA definatly needs to be overhauled. It should be harder than it was to get a governor recalled. With that said, I will be glad to see him go. I don't blame him for everything that's wrong with CA, after all Wilson didn't do us any favors either. But Davis is very corrupt. He only talks to campaign contributors and has probably broken the law in that regard. His main concern during his first term was raising money for his second term election.

In the end though, Californians only have themselves to blame. The liberals in this state are running it into the ground with our endless social programs and higher and higher taxes. If I ever make enough money to be in the highest tax bracket in this state, I'll definatly be moving to Nevada.

>Do I understand correctly that by gathering a few signatures (compared to the percentage of registered voters), a new Governor could be elected by just 12% of the people?

A new governor can be elected with 1% of the vote in the upcoming recall election. There will be two qestions on the recall ballot, "Do you want to recall Dave?" and "If so, who from the following list do you want to replace him?" If more than 50% of the people vote to recall Davis, then the person on the list with the most votes wins.
