Have you tried these reports to FILE and examined them? How about a hex dump?

Turn the printer off.
Hold the Select key and Form Feed key down at the same time.
Turn the printer on.

Are you using absolute or relative positioning? The only time I have seen 'creep', it was me allowing a line to exceed the page width - one extra space will do it. Or just leaving a extra LF or 2 laying around. Out of curiousity, what emulation and driver have you settled on?
