I found that....

In order to display and print JPG images that are stored in Visual FoxPro general fields, there must be an OLE server for JPG files installed on that computer. To display any file type in a general field, and be able to view and print it, the object type must have a OLE Server associated. This OLE server provides information about the file being linked or embedded. This information tells FoxPro how to display and print the file. One example of an OLE server for JPG files is the Microsoft Image Editor, which is included in the Microsoft Office CD's. If a JPG file is embedded or linked in a Visual FoxPro general field before the OLE server is installed, that object (the JPG file) will need to be re-added to the project. You must perform this step because the OLE server adds a lot of information to the file that tells Visual FoxPro how to reference the file.

... the user does not have photo editor installed. And IE is associated with JPG files on their PC.

>>We are using a general field to import a JPG file and then print a report. On most PCs it works fine, but on a few PCs the picture is not output but instead the Netscape logo is output.
>>
>>I have since changed this report to use the FILE method instead of GENERAL FIELDS and it works but there is one report where the GENERAL field method has to be used because foxpro will not center a picture using the FILE method (but u can center the GEN field).
>>
>>It appears to be a problem with some WinXP Pro machines and not w/ the Win2k machines. Its as thought the file association for JPG files is tied to to netscape and its getting in the way of the output. happens when printing or previewing. Using VFP6.

>Yes, you're correct. The application associated with JPG files has direct effect on the output. You may try to change this association to some application that comes with Windows XP and can view JPG files.
