No, it wasn't a shareware. I had a licensed version of it for several years, and it served me great. Someone was fiddling around with my machine recently. I didn't realize how much stuff I'm missing until I actually needed it. Do you know the name of the company or have any other leads to track vcomp down? I searched the web, but to no avail.
