That VCX is refoxed, by any chance? I've seen such behaviour before. Refox places an * here and there and this seems to bomb out the class designer. I fixed that by recompiling the class. In your case, I'd try to create a new classlib, add it in project, and drag the classes from the offending classlib to the new one, then delete the original and rename this one.
