Hi Bob,
We had compiled everything in VFP 8 and had to go back to 7 for one of our applications when the notification that we had to support Windows 95 came down. We didn't have to do anything other than compile everything in VFP 7 again. No changes were done to the underlying structures (VCX/SCX/FRX).
IIRC, going from VFP 7 to 6, caused some problems if you had opened the menus in VFP 7 Menu Designer. VFP 7 changed the menu structure to support the picture clause. There was no reverse to the change, you had to rebuild your menus in VFP 6. The same would be true for going from VFP 8 to 6.
If you turned on DBCEvents in VFP 7, a change was made in the data of the DBC but no structures were changed. Turning the option off made the DBC VFP 6 compatible again.
HTH.
