Almost certainly the leak is from VFP. I ran into a similar problem where I was updating a large database using dde. As I hit the 1700 mark on importing using dde, some of the data started getting lost. Eventually, I would just run out of memory and get a total lockup.

The solution, given to me by someone else on the universal thread, was to force an error, capture it and then go back to whatever you were doing in the program. This worked perfectly.
