Since 1995 I have had a number of experiences with VFP that were interesting. An application would work for say six months and then one-day blow up and not work again. In each case it was what I term a “soft failure”, perhaps something so simple as a misspelled word, or something so gross you wonder how it ever worked. Hopefully nothing will bite you by reverting back to version 6. Just be sure to test the heck out of everything! :)
