That still doesn't explain why he's always shouting, but I think I can tell you. We have a similar situation with a TV reporter here in SLC...
Chris comes from print media. He was never formally trained in TV news. The reporter here is still shouting, even after 20+ years on TV.
>You [may have] missed the storey on Chris. I think PBS was going to hire him (or some other 'noble' news service). This was during the period that the Clinton Administration was trying to break up microsoft into a DeskTop and O/S company. Money got Chris to go with MSNBC. He is a walking 'Weapon of Mass Distraction'
>
>Apparently, Chris [and others] did such a good job, the the issue changed from what was going on with MS's Desktop, and more about what was going on under Clinton's desktop.
>
>We got a new 'administration' - the suit was dropped (in the US anyway) - The Dept of Homeland Security closed a 100M$ + deal with MS - I guess the accounts are even now :~). But, it's shifted to Europe - I heard news-rumors that the Euro EC is threatening to pull the plug unless microsoft modifies it's behavior.
>
>The never ending storey. Me thinks phone services have gotten better since ATT was quartered - but I am just a 'lonely' guy, behind a keyboard, and of little significance in the larger scheme of things. All I have is geek gosip to keep me entertained. I plead with the brain police and the HTA COM vendors to let me enjoy my little life.
