Of course, Yuri, but you seem to think that VFP DIFFERENTIATES between the two situations.
I simply say that I have NEVER heard that VFP does/did so and I seriously doubt that it does.
And, in a VFP6 or VFP7 (or VFP5.0b?) that measly .5 of a record was enough to prevent the writing of ANY MORE RECORDS - at least when TRANSACTIONs were involved!!!!!
