Sounds like a great idea! Need to find a theme for this application, then develop BR. Also organize a team of 6/7 (or more) talanted developers...

>I agree. It also has to include most (if not all) of the latest version of VFP8's new features too (can't do Europa because MSFT would have to release a beta of it)... Perhaps this should be posted under the Universal Thread section...see if Michel and other UT members are interested at all...hmmmmmm, other than the respect and admiration of your peers, what would the prize be? I wonder if I could guess ahead of time who the winners would be (if it were a fun competition where more than one group attempted to do it)? If not a good hearted competition, then maybe enough UT developers would interested in participating in the project as a single team or like the gnu stuff out there is handled?

>>great idea! I think the .vfp. sample application should also include a .VFP. web service and .VFP. web app also working over the same data and reusing as much code as possible in the .VFP. mtdll...
>>>Since MSFT has limited resource devoted to VFP for business reasons, but many VFP developers use it as their primary source of income, perhaps a group of UT VFP developers could get together and design a really good VFP Sample Application that will both show good design strategies and also show off VFP's features. Sort-of like the UT competition we had not too long ago where each country had a team? We all really enjoyed it and benefited from it. However, instead of a 'speed race' this time we could have a set but reasonable time frame and maybe more would participate? I think while many think this should be MSFT's responsibility, we ALL would benefit from it regardless of who does it as long as it is done right...

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
