Don't know which version of VFP you're using but, if you remember, when Access/Assign methods were first introduced (VFP6?) there was a problem when using them with objects ( I think the reference count didn't decrement when .NULL. was assigned). Can't remember when this was fixed - certainly by VFP7.

Thanks for the warning, I'm using SP5, so might be OK. For this particular control I won't be assigning .NULL.value, I'll be careful.
