Sorry, I do not agree. You always can adjust the header having information about file length.
Knowing this 'hidden' behavior from old DOS days, I use my own audit procedure before using tables, and therefore do not loose records and erase garbage at the table end if needed.

Again, if we are talking about entire records "hidden", I support the changes made in VFP8. I discussed a situation when only piece of ONE record is the cause of corruption.
