What outputs are you looking for?

I have had requests to save to Word and I have reviewed the RTF Spec to look at outputting directly to RTF without using Word automation since outputting directly from my engine would be extremely fast. The problem with that is that overlapping objects in an RTF document don't make it easy to edit or you have to forego having true WYSIWYG. So, exporting to RTF could easily be loaded into Word directly since Word really uses the RTF spec for storage unless you are using HTML documents. I still think of my tool more as a desktop publishing output engine rather than just a report engine due to the ability to layer multiple objects easily. I recently did a project for a client using my tool to load up images on pages and then draw text and arrows on top of the images without using any FRX report files. It was just parsing a text file script with positional information and image names and text and field information.
