You should boycott CNN too! They're a bunch of Pansey sniffing fear mongers, You want real news go to Canada's CBC or NWI TV - The others: CNN/CNBC/MSNBC and Faux are for brain deads only :-).

>>I dont want to rehash my pov again but thought that this article will be some serious food for thought for all readers of this thread:

>>
>>Also, I really dont think "offshore work" == "lower quality" per se. There are many developers on this forum alone that are in so called "offshore" countries that are well beyond the skill level of many of us "westerners" - at least well beyond my skills <g> !

>Interesting article, but I do question whether the impact is 'yet' being felt. I think it has been and certainly is now.

>As regards quality, I certainly agree. There are cases where quality can suffer (I mentioned one last time) but in the general case it parallels/exceeds the prior quality (on-shore produced).
>I remember way back in 1980 the company I was at was getting another huge IBM maniframe, this one the first produced by IBM Japan. The installation was typically a 4-5 day job and the engineers waiting for it were 'concerned' and warned us that it could take longer because they had no experience with Japanese packaging, etc.
>It arrived, and 2 days later they turned it over to us. The engineers were amazed at how they had done things to expedite installation and at how it had been so neatly packaged.

>cheers
