Bruce;

Politics in South America (where my wife is from) can be interesting. After the people are allowed to vote (sometimes that does not occur for many years) and decide who will be the next head of state, the military may intervene in the form of a Junta, or barracks revolt. Should those political maneuvers fail to resolve any outstanding issues then a Civil War is in order.

Regardless of where democracy is located, the voice of the people has little real value. A persons vote is like a form of revolution – you have the opportunity to vote for what you think you want for whatever reason. In reality the system already has an agenda and your vote is not really necessary.

Regardless of who holds office the chances are it will be the same old story. Little men and sometimes little women want to control your life in his or her image. What you want or need are meaningless until a few weeks before election night when suddenly the political office seekers suddenly pretend to cater to your every wish and desire.

Turning to the voters, “I will kiss the nearest baby and vote for me! I am for the people and the issues (I am in it for me, myself and I!)”.

Turning to your political party members, “It is the party that counts (It is all about me!)”.
