As I said in my first post, I suggest a simpler way of doing this would be to use ? and ?? rather than the report writer.

Do something like this:

1) set print on and set console off
2) Print the header (date, time, store, phone number, address, till operator etc)
3) Scan the receipt lines, outputting a line for each, e.g.
? quantity,description,unit cost,total
4) Print the totals
5) Print the footer bit (Please call again) etc.
6) Print enough blank lines to cause the receipt to scroll out of the printer and past the tear-off bar.

You can use absolute positioning with ?? and also things like FONT and STYLE.
