>Microsoft is already outsourcing to India - whilst it might not be the core tools, OS and Office, it surely will not be long;

I wonder what kind of stock options they're getting. The nice thing about outsourcing is that if the out-sourcer screws up - it's damned hard to get your money back or sue them (or send the godfather to their house to offer a deal they can't refuse:-).. Buyer beware.

But Indians are a bright hard working, well educated people. It's more important to westerners to look smart and hang out at yuppie night spots than to sit in front of there system and enhance their skills. Maybe a third world work ethic will be good for us. Lazy westerners, however, can be creative - I get the sense, from talking with others on this board that people outside the US cannot set themselves up as independent contractors or form their own companies. It seems they have to work under the whip of someone else. What to do What to do.

To make it, one needs to be more than just a coder or a programmer - one has to deliver profits (or savings) to their patrons. I don't think the market is still willing to buy a master of geek speak - I think the markets want's someone that can deliver.

Competition is good. If some of us loose work to India - then we probably deserve it! Maybe our standard of living needs a little deflation. Maybe we need to learn that acquistions don't mean happiness. Besides, if it all falls apart, we can eat the rich. That's what they're here for. right:-).

Only in America can a middle class house =hold own three new ford pickups - In the rest of the world - everyone rides the bus - Even the rich - go figure.
