>>>If you doubt that quality offshore outsourcing can be done, may I suggest opening up whatever computer you used to compose your last message, and check the country of origin of its components.
>>
>>It would seem you care more for the Sprint Corp. bottom line than for the hundreds of people facing redundancy.

>No. What I care about is:
>
>1) the right for Sprint to run its business as it sees fit, within legal constraints

"Within (the) legal constraints" of which country? And what if those legal constraints do not cover every possible avenue down which Sprint Corp. (et al.) might want to exploit people? And what about Corporate Governance that is not codified within the law, are you saying that no matter how sharp a business practice might be, as long as it is within the law then that's fine by you? How about a company that calls people, let's the phone ring once and then hang's up, knowing that an adequate number of people will use caller ID to call back and see what the missed call was about, without realizing that the call is to a premium rate number. Sharp, but not illegal.

>2) the right for you to hold, and express, your opinion about #1

Whilst it is commendable that you care about my right to hold opinions, this is an enormous digression from the thread.

>>Your comparison of the hardware inside a PC and outsourcing software development is specious. Robots in India, Taiwan, etc. differ little from those within the U.S.
>
>Let's assume that's true. Why, then, aren't all electronic components made in the U.S.?

See Jim Livermore's response.

>>Hard Evidence – There are some areas of life where once you have the ‘hard evidence’ it is too late to do anything meaningful. For example Weapons of Mass Destruction – the absence of hard evidence did not seem to be a deterrent for the Bush Administration and how about child abuse, when you have the corpse in your hand, how does the hard evidence help you? Personally I think you can take your hard evidence and stuff it “where the sun don’t shine” < G >

>I'm trying to find out what you know about offshore outsourcing that Sprint doesn't know and has already considered. IOW do you have any proof that Sprint is about to make a mistake, or is that just your opinion?

Are you really asking if I have 'proof' - what do you think? I have considerable first hand experience, echoed by others on this thread - it would seem that in your book this counts for little.
