Has anyone had problems with z-order NOT SAVING PROPERLY ? When are in desgin mode and have a big shape object on the bottom , followed by a smaller shape object on top of it, follwed by a caption for the smaller shape on top of the smaller shape which should be on the highest zorder but it will not save that way in some instances when there are many more things on a real form ?

You can select each of these things in the properties sheet and then
click the send to back button on the toolbar OR the send to front button on the toolbar and get the form to look the way it should in both design mode and in run mode with the caption showing above the smaller shape which is in turn on top of the big shape BUT when you save this form and open it up again the zorders are not saved and the big shape may be infront of either of the other two objects.

**-- If you cant reproduce this you may need more items on the top of the big shape and the little shape etc..

Has anyone seen this and know whether or not it is a bug and what to do about it ?

Is there only 2 or 3 levels of zorder in design mode?


It seems like VFP should go thru all the controls at save time and determine the max # of zorder levels and then determine which controls are in the highest level, the next highest level, on & on till you are at the bottom level of z.

Z4-Level ............. Textbox1,Textbox2,Label1,Label2
Z3-Level ............. Shape3
Z2-Level ............. Shape2
Z1-Level ............. Shape1
