The backup file that I received is actually a SQL2k backup. I installed SQL2k and was able to restore it.

However, unlike what I thought, the 2 databases are not actually the same database. The MDF and LOG files is actually another database from a different facility which I also need to get data from. I tried to attach the database in SQL2k and it reports that it is not a valid database. I have no idea which version that these MDF and LOG files came from. It obviously was not SQL2K. I have been trying to attach these in SQL 7 but it does not have an option for attaching a database in Enterprise Manager and I have not been able to figure out how to use the SP_ATTACH_DB stored procedure to attach it. I'm not sure it it would work anyway unless it is a SQL 7 database. I suspect that it may be a SQL 6.5 Database. I'm trying to track down where this database came from. If you have any suggestions or can provide syntax example for running the SP_ATTACH_DB from query analyzer, I would appreciate it.
